The street is now pedestrianised as part of a courtyard between buildings. Our tour guide explained that the reason the area just to the left (east) of the street has not been built on is that it is the burial ground of the original Leeds Infirmary.
Re the statue of the Black Prince (in the City Square near the station), it used to be said that he'd been placed here, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!
