The Castle Pumping Station located in Green Lane was built in the 1830s together with two reservoirs and a water treatment works to meet Londonís Growing demand for water. Water treatment for the East Reservoir moved to Walthamstow many years ago. The West Reservoir see TQ3287 : New River and West Reservoir is managed for wild life and water sports it is no longer used as a water supply. The redundant Castle Pumping Station is now the biggest indoor climbing centre in the UK.
