Balloch Central Station, 1965
Looking south. Despite the 'Bridgeton' destination, the train is arriving from Glasgow and will terminate here. A small number of trains continued to Balloch Pier.
This is not the Balloch station of today, which is sited on the far side of the level crossing and is now the terminus of the line. The closure occurred on 23 April 1988, the new station opening the following day. The signal box and level crossing then became redundant, the extension to Balloch Pier having closed two years previously.
