You say Playstow and I say Plarstow
This is the Plaistow terminus for the Hammersmith & City Line. A couple of years back when some underground trains were fitted with automatic station announcement equipment, they pronounced this station as “Playstow”. The locals vented their collective spleen at London Underground and soon the computers were taught to speak proper an’ call the place “Plarstow” like wot it should be. If you want it posh you can push off to TQ4070!
