Glasgow Central Station
Glasgow Central Station
Argyle Street passes underneath the station, the platforms being at second-floor level of the surrounding buildings. The glass roof of the station can be seen through the windows on the east side of the concourse. Glasgow Central is the northern terminus of the West Coast Main Line to London Euston. It opened in 1879 and outgrew demand very quickly. As a result, the station was altered several times before the present building and track layout was installed in 1905.
