Speedwell Castle, delightful Gothick house in Brewood. Pevsner describes it as 'a delectable folly'. It dates from 1750 and was built from the proceeds of a bet on a winning horse named 'Speedwell' which was owned by the Duke of Bolton. The house is Grade II listed, see: LinkExternal link
