The Monument to the Great Fire of London
The Monument to the Great Fire of London
The monument is exactly 202 feet high and 202 feet from the site of the bakery where the Great Fire of London started in September 1666. The photograph was taken from approximately that spot. The monument was built by Christopher Wren and is hollow so visitors can climb to the gallery just below the top.
