Whittington Bridge in Staffordshire
This shows the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal approaching Whittington from the south-east. About a hundred metres north of the bridge the canal reverts to being the Coventry Canal.
Coventry Canal (Fazeley to Whittington) :: SK1707

This section of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal was opened by 1789 along a route planned by the Coventry Canal Company, but delayed because of lack of money. This is the reason why several miles of canal between Fazeley and Whittington have un-numbered bridges. It is often now considered as part of the Coventry Canal.
