Carreg Ddu lies off the Western end of the Llŷn Peninsula, a third of the way to Bardsey island. Tides race through Bardsey sound and this rock will undoubtedly have taken the lives of many pilgrims en route to Bardsey, also known as Ynys Enlli, or the isle of the 20,000 saints.
