NS2875 : Greenock Central station
near to Greenock, Inverclyde, Great Britain

Greenock Central station
This was the terminus until 1889 when the "Gourock extension" line was tunnelled through the west end of Greenock to Gourock Pier.
The Glasgow bound train is just leaving the last of the three tunnels between Fort Matilda and here. The sidings to the right are not electrified and are not used for passenger traffic.
The turreted wall to the right hints at this station's former more grand appearance and status.
