Kennet and Avon Canal - Crofton Pumping Station
Built in 1812 for pumping water to the summit of the Kennet and Avon Canal. The building is Grade 1 listed, and contains two Cornish beam engines. One of these is the oldest working beam engine in the world still in its original house and capable of actually doing the job for which it was installed. The building is open to the public as a working museum.
