Kirklees Viaduct, M62
The viaduct crosses the Calder valley railway line, the Hebble and Calder Navigation and the River Calder, although the river is not visible in this picture. The steel box girders which carry the reinforced concrete deck slab were modified during fabrication, in the light of lessons learnt from the collapse of the Milford Haven steel box girder bridge in South Wales.
