Interesting to see this is now being restored. This humble building was the terminus of the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire Light Railway, a remarkable concern with a chequered history and style of operation that was almost "Oh Mr Porter!" and "The Titfield Thunderbolt" incarnate. The line was opened in 1866 and then closed again and was dismantled in 1880. It was then rebuilt and reopened in 1911, only to close to passengers again in 1933. It almost faded away until the military took over and upgraded much of the line for their use during WWII, after which it finally closed (given its past history, for now?) in 1962!
