They often get in the way when trying to get a landscape photo but they play an essential part of modern life.

These two lines fell silent for three whole days last Hogmanay.

This was due to a tornado like wind lasting no more than 30 seconds that tore through the district, snapping trees, damaging buildings and dropping wooden poles like these all over the place.
