SV8909 : The Woolpack Point battery walls

taken 34 years ago, near to Hugh Town, Isles of Scilly, Great Britain

The Woolpack Point battery walls
The Woolpack Point battery walls
When built in the 17th century the section at the "point" of the battery contained the magazine - the entrance to this one can be seen here: SV8909 : Woolpack Point.

I suspect that the opening at the top was created during WWI or II to convert this into a machine gun pillbox.
