Ryebank Rife
Ryebank Rife
Taken from the junction of footpaths on the eastern bank. Rife is a local word for river or stream and is used a lot in the coastal plain between Chichester and Goring. There are theories that they could also refer to medieval drainage ditches made when the fields were originally inned.
