Summer house, Amisfield
Summer house, Amisfield
Now on the land of Haddington Golf Course, this mid 18th century temple folly lies on the north-east of the site of Amisfield house (now demolished). It was probably built by Isaac Ware.

This is a view of the rear elevation, with 2 window openings and a cellar entrance below. There were two layers to the summerhouse, the ground floor may have been used as a banqueting house whilst the basement would have been used by servants to prepare the food.
