SO4348 : Site of Wormsley Priory

taken 10 years ago, near to Wormsley, Herefordshire, Great Britain

Site of Wormsley Priory
Site of Wormsley Priory
Site of Augustinian priory, founded in 1216. Not a trace remains, but several old buildings locally (e.g. the Court House next to the Church) contain worked stones. A few stones can be found entangled in the roots of an enormous cedar tree nearby. A stream runs just in front of the trees and there are fishponds to the left. A very private site, just waiting for Time Team to come along.
