NN7555 : New Schiehallion path

taken 10 years ago, 4 km from Tummel Bridge, Perth And Kinross, Great Britain

New Schiehallion path
New Schiehallion path
The new John Muir Trust path to Schiehallion. Replaces the frankly idiotic previous popular route which went straight up a steep slope to the west, a poor route choice of the kind now seen on many other hills. This path however is a delight, moving gently up the ridge, before dumping you on to the boulderfields high on the hill.

Even if you do not fancy the long slog across slippery boulders to the summit, the walk to the path end is easy and gets you into a wild and high place and is a worthwhile objective in itself.
