To the left, in the foreground, is Minsmere Sluice, with Minsmere River New Cut stretching away behind. In the centre are the ponds and scrapes of the RSPB Minsmere Bird Sanctuary, famous, along with TM4147 : RSPB nature reserve of Havergate Island, for the recolonisation of the avocet in this area.
