SJ1952 : Meander on the River Alyn

taken 10 years ago, near to Llandegla, Denbighshire/Sir Ddinbych, Great Britain

Meander on the River Alyn.
Meander on the River Alyn.
A typical example of a meander for geography students. There are steep river cliffs on the far bank and a slip-off slope on the near bank. You can also visibly see the water travelling faster towards the further bank and more deposition on the bed the closer you get to the slip-off slope.
