Low water in St. Tudwal's Road
The road has seen some interesting ships in the past including the Wexford based Royalist man-of-war which in March 1649 kidnapped Griffith Jones, the Roundhead owner of Castellmarch, as a hostage for the life of the Royalist Col. Sir John Owen of Clenennau and, in July 1914, the Irish Republican Volunteers' yachts 'Kelpie' and 'Chotah' which were involved in gunrunning German Mauser rifles and ammo into Ireland and which took shelter here during a week of stormy weather.
