There's ice on the water in this January view looking northeast from the bridge. This was a new bridge, built in the late 1930s to connect with the Calverley Wood estate where roads had been laid out, and even given names, before the War intervened and prevented any houses being built. The roads remained as eerie tracks through the woodland.
