The map indicates this is disused lead mine but it looks like a ruined sheepfold to me. The mine itself commenced in 1874 and was known as Saddleback Old Mine and was basically an exploratory mine looking for the lead vein. The lead vein however consisted of dark brown limonite. In the 1890s there was a proposal to sell the limonite as a pigment but this turned out to be impractical.
