Mining dumps at Double Waters. 1978
Double Waters is where the rivers Tavy and Walkham meet. Just downstream before the left bend in the river, the south bank of the Tavy abounds with evidence of the mining activity of the "Virtuous Lady" Mine of the 19th century. (Named after Queen Victoria). This view shows two spoil heaps. The river is hidden behind them.
