This corner, now part of Towyn Farm, and used mainly for sheep grazing, is worth recording for two reasons.

[1].It was at this point against a sunken wall the Polish-piloted Vickers Wellington X3541 of 18th OTU (an all Polish Operational Training Unit), then based at RAF Finningley,(now Robin Hood Airport), nr. Doncaster SK6598), with its crew of six, came to a sudden halt after its belly-flop across the airfield on the 3rd of August, 1944, and

[2]. It was here also that the farm house of Punt-y-Gwair and its outbuildings stood. The whole were demolished to allow an extension of the airfield at the beginning of WWII.
