SJ1787 : Commodore's Cruise to the West Hoyle Bank

taken 10 years ago, 4 km from West Kirby, Wirral, Great Britain

Commodore's Cruise to the West Hoyle Bank
Commodore's Cruise to the West Hoyle Bank
Boats from Hoylake, West Kirby and Dee Sailing Clubs on the West Hoyle Bank in the Dee estuary. The sandbank is an island at low water but is completely flooded at high water. Visible in the distance is Hilbre. The pretty, clinker-built boats in the foreground are Hoylake Opera class boats, designed and sailed locally since 1902.
