Stopped the car beside the road to prepare for a walk and as I took my boot bag out of the car a mass of hungry looking ewes arrived. I was amused to find that a hard core group hung on for the 10 minutes it took me to put my hill clothes on. This time of the year pregnant ewes are kept on fairly tight rations to ensure they do not get too fat as this can cause lambing problems.
