TQ5943 : A small woodland pond What a polluted disaster there is one like that above Dowdeswell Cheltenham mind you Dowdeswell reservoir is not much better as water supply, many of them around North Somerset that are just dangerous as drowning risk, reminds me of pictures of Vietnam deciduous woodlands derelict from war and eviction of farmers and forest workers. Scotland is developing them as a career and Portishead Portbury industrial marsh has a new collection made by Councillors and Heritage Government DoE BBC wildlife. I first saw some of those when walking beyond grandfather's farm in the 1950s in the Costwold ANOB ! Tyntesfield is collecting new ones like that from neglect.
