This cycle & pedestrian bridge over the railway was opened in June 2004 and gives cyclists an alternative to using the narrow and busy road bridge. Of course, since it crosses the railway it has to be roofed in to prevent vandals dropping things on the line. Then you have to put up spikes to stop them climbing on the roof ...
