Cannon Street Station
Cannon Street Station viewed from across the River Thames. The station dates from 1866 but sustained damaged during the blitz, the present station dates from the 1960s. The towers contain water tanks which power hydraulic lifts in the station. (Information from Christopher Winn's excellent book, 'I Never Knew That About the River Thames'.) The dome of St Paul's Cathedral is on the left.
