The shell-sand beach on Isle Ristol, Summer Isles
The spatter of isles in the mouth of outer Loch Broom, Wester Ross, are called the Summer Isles because they provided summer grazing for livestock from the mainland. There are few places where boats can be drawn up, and the pure white, gently shelving, shell-sand beach on the north side of Isle Ristol is exceptional.
