The fading list of the names of Nefyn boys lost in World War II
The fading list of the names of Nefyn boys lost in World War II
After WWII the memorial committee decided not to have the names carved on the plinth but rather on a brass plate. Time and the elements have combined to fade the names. The list on the left hand is that of the 12 "morwyr" (sailors) lost which included three brothers - the Williamses of Bodfel and the two Rowlands brothers of Plas. Four fallen "milwyr" (soldiers) are listed on the right.
