Rifle Butts Quarry near Goodmanham
The quarry was opened in the 1860s and provide material for building the Hull to York Railway nearby. It later served as a rifle range until the 1940s. It is now a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

In 1993 the roof was erected over the excavated geological strata to protect them from the worst of the weather.
