SO2719 : Young hawthorn on the mountain

taken 10 years ago, near to Forest Coal Pit, Monmouthshire/Sir Fynwy, Great Britain

Young hawthorn on the mountain
Young hawthorn on the mountain
It's good to find young trees growing on the north side of the Sugar Loaf Mountain. In most of South Wales there are no young trees in the high moorland because sheep devour them.
This is National Trust land.
The Black Mountains in the background are almost devoid of trees on open ground.
Down in the valley is the home of a rich person who perhaps has no interest in rights to common grazing.
