Hampstead Heath, North End
Hampstead Heath, North End
Often referred to as Sandy Heath, the area is populated with Hornbeam (in the foreground), Beech, Silver Birch and Holly trees. The underlying soil is sandy gravel and the undulating nature of the land is cause by extraction of the gravel for building in the distant past.
