Bayons Manor parkland
Bayons Manor parkland
Looking east from the Viking Way. The bungalow in the trees is built on the site of Bayons Manor, a 60-roomed Gothic mansion surrounded by a moat with drawbridges and crenellated towers built in the 1830s by Charles Tennyson d'Eyncourt LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) . It was abandoned and fell in to disrepair in the early 20th century, eventually shamefully demolished in 1964.
