TA2221 : Power from Afar

taken 10 years ago, 4 km from Ryehill, East Riding of Yorkshire, Great Britain

Power from Afar
Power from Afar
Similar to a previous photograph submitted to this square, but under different lighting conditions. Several of the posts have got a significant lean to the right on them due to the prevailing westerly winds, in this exposed part of Holderness, blowing on the power lines. Due to the telephoto effect of the lens used, the catenaries (the mathematical shapes of curves formed when wires are suspended between two points) of the power lines are greatly accentuated.

This photograph extends well into the next square and beyond.
