SH7163 : Erratic boulder

taken 10 years ago, near to Cedryn [other Features], Conwy, Great Britain

Erratic boulder
Erratic boulder
This erratic boulder has been quarried from outcrop in the higher part of Cwm Eigiau and dumped on the otherwise bare hillside by the retreating valley glacier. Notice how material has become banked against the uphill side of the boulder as a consequence of flow down the steep flank of the valley.
