Wainman's Pinnacle
Wainman's Pinnacle
Just as Ethel's Tower stands at the eastern end of Earl Crag, so Wainman's Pinnacle, which pre-dates it be some 80 years, stands at the western end. Both structures are prominent while driving along the A629. Wainman'S Pinnacle was built by a local builder to commemorate the British victory at the Battle of Waterloo, in which the builder's son, Richard Wainman, lost his life.
