The Chalice stone, St Andrew's Street
The Chalice stone, St Andrew's Street
No not the Da Vinci Code, but something of a mystery nonetheless. The building it is on, close to Emmanuel College, is currently being done up as part of the Grand Arcade scheme. This stone carries the word EMMANVEL with the college arms, plus a chalice with THE CHALICE around it. It assume it must have been a pub ("inn" might be more contemporary) sign, but have not been able to find a record of a pub or inn of that name
