The Mounth: A dissected plateau
The Mounth: A dissected plateau
The snow and winter sunlight give a good impression of the vast area of rolling plateau in the centre of the Highlands of Scotland. This land was once protected under an icecap, and only partly eaten away by moving glaciers. Much of the land is uniformly between 750m and 900m.

The dome shaped hill in the distant centre of the photograph is Beinn Bhrotain.
