Mawddach Estuary
Mawddach Estuary
Looking inland from Barmouth bridge (SH6215 : Barmouth railway and footbridge) at receding tide. The Afon Mawddach is tidal all the way up to Dolgellau, and several sand and mud flats can be seen. The flat green peninsula in the centre is Fegla Fach, the wooded headland on the right Fegla Fawr. The mountains in the background belong to the Cadair Idris (SH7113 : The upper part of Fox's Path up to Penygadair) massif, with the cliff at the extreme right being Tyrrau Mawr (SH6713 : View from the Tyrrau Mawr).
