Edward VII wall letter box near Tintern Abbey
A wall letter box, made by W.T.Allen, from the reign of Edward VII (1901-1910). It is mounted in a wall across the A466 from Tintern Abbey. The posting aperture was originally smaller. According to Shire Album 188 "Old Letter Boxes" by Martin Robinson, this would have been carried out between 1959 and 1965 by cutting out and fitting a wide aperture casting.
