Celebrating Shillibeer
Celebrating Shillibeer
In 1979 several London buses were repainted in a replica of the livery of George Shillibeer's first London omnibus to mark the 150th anniversary of London bus services. The route of the original service was from Paddington Green along New Road (now Marylebone Road), via Somers Town and City Road to the Bank. Here RM2191 is seen sporting the special livery on the 137 route in Oxford Street.
