TQ0492 : Outflow from sewage works to Grand Union Canal
near to West Hyde, Hertfordshire, Great Britain

Outflow from sewage works to Grand Union Canal
The outflow water channel bends sharply as it enters the canal, and these parallel curved concrete diverters help keep the flow smooth, and protect the banks. The canal here carries the water of the River Colne. Further south water from the canal spills back into a separate channel, see TQ0490 : Weir from canal to River Colne, near Harefield.
