The initial impression of the footbridge, with what appears to be a yellow counterweight, is that it should tilt to allow traffic to use the river. In fact it is a swing bridge (see LinkExternal link for information).

The angular nature of the Deep, and the cuboidal building behind the deep give rise to the photograph title.

The river Hull can just be seen amongst the wooden piles.
