Situated in the Forest of Rossendale in the Lancashire Pennines between Burnley (to the N) and Rawtenstall (S). View taken across the S end of this water supply reservoir from the E bank, looking W. The reservoir is used for watersports, in addition to supplying drinking water. The low white building to the right of the centre is the club house of the Rossendale Valley Sailing Club. The reservoir occupies parts of three grid squares: SD8228; SD8328; and this one, SD8227. This picture encompasses most of the water area in SD8227.
