The ruins, Shenachie
The ruins, Shenachie
This ruined settlement is in the valley of the Findhorn, flowing through the Monadhliath mountains.
Former local resident Malcolm Douglas comments: "Current maps give location as Shenachie but I was born in 1922 in the glen and the ruin illustrated was known as Polochaig. The grass covered ruins directly opposite over the river is Shenachie that had been occupied by MacQueen who was credited with killing the last wolf in the area."
