The Fountain Inn, Southgate
The Fountain Inn, Southgate
Late 17th century building that became an inn in 1790. It also marks the point where the old South Gate used to be, at the northern end of the building where the current sign is. If you look closely at the decoration under the eaves it stops at that point. South Street begins from the start of the next building. The Market Cross can be seen at the end of the street.
